Study Title:  Your memories matter

Description: We are trying to understand how the way children and teenagers feel close to their guardians (called ‘attachment style’) affects how they remember past events (like birthdays or special trips, called ‘autobiographical memory’) and how these memories may be linked to feeling low or sad. Guardians will be asked a few short questions about your child’s background and experiences of low mood. Children will be asked about their own experiences of low mood and attachment style, and they will also complete some short tasks with our experimenters to look at their vocabulary, matrix reasoning, and memory.

Who:   Children (aged 9-12), adolescents (aged 13-16), and their guardians are invited to take part in this study.

Where: Online, at a time convenient to you and your child. A computer or laptop (or tablet with keyboard and camera) is needed.

Time: This study involves two sessions. Session 1 will last about 30 minutes, and Session 2 will last about 35 minutes.

Incentive: As a thank you for taking part, you and your child will receive a £20 Blackhawk e-gift card, which can be used in bookstores like Waterstones (or a $20 Amazon e-gift card for participants in the US). The e-gift card will be sent to you via email.

If you and your child would like to join, please read the Participant Information Sheets and fill in the Consent Forms using the links below. Once we receive these, we will be in touch with the next steps!
